The Borneo Pygmy Elephant is the world's smallest subspecies of elephant (turns out that means they're still pretty large as far as terrestrial mammals go). There are only around 1500 of these beautiful, gentle creatures left in the wild, and I am completely awestruck that I got to watch a handful of them eating their way through the dense jungle along the Kinabatangan River 🇲🇾
